Drop In at Real Ale

In June of 2019 we hosted our first event in collaboration with our good friends at Real Ale Brewing. We are grateful to Brad Farbstein who grew up skateboarding and believed in our cause. Brad and the Real Ale team generously donated their time and entire facility for our 2 day event.

Over the course of the weekend we raised over $50,000 with an amazing skateboard art gallery and silent auction. We purchased 140 blank skateboards and shipped them to artists and breweries all over the country. The boards were designed, shipped back to us, and hung all over the walls of the brewery. Needless to say, the event was a huge success. We modeled this idea after what Brent Humphries and his team did to raise funds for the Taylor, TX skatepark.

Real Ale took it a step further and brewed a beer called “Goofy Foot” in our honor. Shout out to all the goofy footed skaters out there! Goofy Foot was on tap at Barber Shop in Dripping Springs and at The Shady Llama in Wimberley. A portion of proceeds were donated to the Dripping Springs skatepark fund.

In addition to the skateboard art auction we rented the Thrasher Death Match ramp from our homies over at 4DWN and had an epic skate session over the course of day. Scroll down to see some photos of an unforgettable weekend!

Lastly, we are forever grateful to all the people that made this event possible. It was a labor of love from so many that believed the Dripping Springs Skatepark would make our community better.
